Who we are
Al Manahil Welfare Foundation Bangladesh is a non-profitable and non- political charitable organization which is registered and recognized by the NGO bureau. It is also listed by the ministry of social welfare of the People’s republic of Bangladesh. Al Manahil was established in 1418 Hijri, Corresponding to 1998, by the renowned Islamic scholar, Allama Shah Jamir Uddin Nanupuri (Rahimahullah).
He founded Al Manahil with a view to serving humanity, engaging in social development work and supporting the needy and underprivileged people. His purpose was also to conduct da’wah activities in a society which lacks religious awareness. Al Manahil Foundation has been working relentlessly to improve the quality of life for the backward community of Bangladesh.
This covers initiatives related to independent work, healthcare, education, housing, food, sanitation, clean drinking water availability, and the growth of religious organizations. Al Manahil has performed bravely, especially during national tragedies, taking the lead in relief operations.
During the covid-19 pandemic, the initiatives that the foundation took to fight the disaster were praised by the people of Bangladesh. We provided free ambulance services with six of our ambulances which were donated by general people to Al Manahil Foundation.
We have arranged burial process of around 4,000 bodies free of charge. Not only that, we supplied oxygen to the patients, established both general and covid-19 hospitals. In that hospital we treated around 1500 covid 19 patients. Additionally, the foundation distributed food supplies to thousands of impoverished people who became jobless due to the pandemic, and these efforts are ongoing to this day.
To date, Al Manahil has established over a thousand madrasas, mosques, and orphanages. It has installed hundreds of thousands of tube wells to provide safe drinking water. The foundation has provided homes and relief to millions of underprivileged people in various regions of Bangladesh, as well as to hundreds of thousands of Rohingya refugees.
Apart from its relief and social development initiatives, Al Manahil also provides financial support to a large number of widows, orphans, and impoverished families.
The group runs a number of initiatives, including helping impoverished youngsters memorize the Quran, constructing homes for widows and orphans, providing iftar to those who are fasting, planning Qurbani (animal sacrifice) for the needy, and feeding the destitute. The goal of these numerous initiatives and programs is to help and support people who are in need.
All of these initiatives are carried out by Al Manahil Foundation Bangladesh, first and foremost with the unique grace of Almighty Allah, and secondly with the assistance and collaboration of kind people from all over the world.
