FLOOD RELIEF FUND
The Prophet (saw) said, “Whoever relieves a believer of one of the hardships of this worldly life, Allah will relieve him of one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection. Whoever makes things easy for one who is in difficulty, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah continues to aid His servant as long as the servant aids his brother.” [Sahih Muslim]

Floods: Bangladesh’s Recurring Humanitarian Challenge
Every year during the monsoon season, large parts of Bangladesh are devastated by severe flooding. Districts such as Sylhet, Sunamganj, Noakhali, Feni, and Chattogram are among the worst affected, where thousands of families lose their homes, crops, and sources of livelihood. Houses, roads, schools, and marketplaces are submerged under water, bringing everyday life to a standstill.
In these difficult times, Al Manahil Welfare Foundation Bangladesh has consistently stood beside flood-affected communities, extending a helping hand to those most in need.
Emergency Relief and Food Assistance
During floods, access to safe drinking water and food becomes one of the most urgent humanitarian needs. One of Al Manahil Foundation’s key emergency response activities is the distribution of food packages to vulnerable families.
While floodwaters continue to isolate communities and force families to remain in temporary shelters or inside their homes, our dedicated volunteer teams travel directly to remote and severely affected areas—often reaching places that are difficult for others to access—to deliver life-saving assistance.
Permanent Housing for Flood-Affected Families
Al Manahil’s commitment extends far beyond emergency relief. Families who become homeless due to floods, fire, or extreme poverty receive long-term support through our permanent housing program.
The project includes:
- Professional land surveys conducted by a skilled technical team.
- High-quality construction based on designs prepared by experienced engineers.
- Each home is built with essential living facilities, including a bedroom, guest room, kitchen, bathroom, and veranda.
Through this initiative, Al Manahil Welfare Foundation has already built hundreds of homes for vulnerable families in flood-affected areas across Sylhet, Sunamganj, Noakhali, Feni, Chattogram, and other regions of Bangladesh. These homes have restored safety, dignity, and hope to orphans, widows, and families left without shelter.
Why This Work Matters
For a family that loses its home in a flood, the loss goes far beyond bricks and walls. It means losing security, dignity, stability, and hope for the future. Parents and children are often forced to live under the open sky or in overcrowded temporary shelters.
A permanent home offers more than just a roof—it provides the opportunity to rebuild lives with safety, confidence, and dignity. At Al Manahil, we believe that true humanitarian service is not limited to emergency relief; it is about sustainable rehabilitation that empowers families to become self-reliant once again.
