Iftar Distribution
The holy month of Ramadan is a unique gift from Allah to the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). During this blessed time, believers strive to attain closeness to their Lord through worship, seeking forgiveness, and giving charity. Any good deed performed in this month earns 70 times more rewards than on other days. The Quran and Hadith emphasize the immense importance of performing good deeds during this sacred period.
One of the fundamental obligatory acts of Ramadan is fasting (Sawm). In our country, devout Muslims engage in various acts of worship, including preparing Suhoor and Iftar. However, many poor and underprivileged families are deprived of proper Suhoor and Iftar due to financial hardships.
To support these needy individuals, Al Manahil Welfare Foundation organizes Iftar distribution every year. Throughout Ramadan, daily Iftar meals are prepared for thousands of people across hundreds of mosques in villages and towns across Bangladesh. Additionally, the foundation delivers Iftar meals directly to the homes of the poor, needy, and helpless individuals and distributes them on the streets and workplaces. This initiative is carried out with great dedication and effort to ensure that those in need do not go without food during this holy month.
The Virtues of Providing Iftar to a Fasting Person
Let us reflect on the blessed words of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) regarding the virtues of providing Iftar:
The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
“Whoever gives Iftar to a fasting person, his sins will be forgiven, he will be freed from Hellfire, and he will receive the same reward as the fasting person, without reducing the reward of the fasting person.”
The Companions (RA) asked, “O Messenger of Allah! Not all of us have the means to provide Iftar to a fasting person.”
The Prophet (SAW) replied,
“Even if someone gives a fasting person a drink of milk mixed with water, a single date, or a sip of water, he will receive the same reward. And whoever provides a fasting person with a full meal, Allah will grant him a drink from my Hawd al-Kawthar (the river of paradise), after which he will never feel thirst until he enters Jannah.”
📖 (Tirmidhi, Musnad Ahmad)
The virtues of providing Iftar to a fasting person are immense! The rewards include forgiveness of sins, the promise of Jannah, equal rewards as a fasting person, and drinking from the blessed Hawd al-Kawthar.
To attain these blessings, we invite you to join our Iftar distribution program and help provide Iftar to those in need. May Allah accept our efforts and bless us all. Ameen!
